Helena the mid wife had her visit on the Thursday and all well (blood pressure nice and low etc) but still some uncertainty about position so booked in for a scan the following Wednesday.
I was at my last union meeting of the year on the Friday (thank goodness I don't have to go to London anymore for a while).
On the Saturday, Pete made his first attempt to try and install a new sink in our kitchen (the old one has been bugging us for ages: too small, taps set in the wood so it all goes mouldy etc etc).
Dave from next door came over to give his advice. Pete did really well with all the stripping out of the old units etc, but the fitting of the sink was in the end actually quite complex and so we booked Dave and his apprentice to come in and actually install the sink on the Friday: best to leave some things to the professionals.
On Sunday, we went to the NCT Christmas party where Vincent saw Father Christmas for the first time: ahhh.

This week has been a bit up and down. Vincent had had a terrible cold and a cough and so of course both Pete and I have both come down with it and I have just been feeling very tired all week. Also I am not sleeping that well at night-waking up in the early hours of the morning and not being able to get back to sleep again even though I am exhausted. So I have been getting up and watching News24 and waiting for Vincent to wake up!
Then on Wednesday... the big scan, and the surprising news that the baby is actually head down... hooray.... we were so pleased. We had hoped to be able to put the dvd up on the blog but it is in some strange format so we can't. However the sonographer did use the 4D camera for a little bit of it so Pete managed to get a screen shot of her face (it looks a bit odd as obviously she is squashed up against my tummy!)

Anyway, all is very well, and she is measuring average in all the areas so all is well. So on Thursday when Helena the mid wife visited, we were able to really start planning the home birth. Very exciting.
On Friday, it was all go ahead with the new sink (not having water in the kitchen for the whole week has been a pain in the bum, and everything being in a total mess), but those Ikea fittings have turned out to be a pain in the bum of their own, and at 5pm having been there since 8am, and there still being a leak from the taps, Dave had to concede that we would have to have another couple of days without water in the kitchen and they would come back on Monday morning. Oh well...
We did get the Christmas tree up though which Vincent seems to like (even though he did think the baubles were balls)
On Saturday, while Pete got on with some sanding and treatment of the new work surfaces in the kitchen, Vincent and I went to Karen's house for a meet up with my NCT support group Mums and the little ones (Caitlin, Ava and Nell)
We were supposed to go to a Christmas party after the show on Saturday night, but I was just too exhausted, so Pete went by himself. Having had a good sleep and Pete giving me a nice lie-in, I was feeling much better and so on Sunday night, after swapping Secret Santa presents round at our friends from the theatre Jon and Debs, it was the annual Carol singing (or drunken shouting more like) at the theatre, which was great fun.
Today (Monday) has seen the kitchen finished. The new sink and work surfaces look fantastic and it is so nice to have a big sink.
Have also finally got around to having another picture of the bump so here you are at 36 weeks (with comparison at 17, 23 and 28).
