Anyway, Pete's brother Dave has been growing dahlias to show again this year, and as luck would have it, the day before Verity's baptism was the Midlands show in Kenilworth. So Dave and his mate Tony (Dangerous) came up on the Friday night and set up the flowers for the show on Saturday. Basically Dave left very little for anyone else to win, sweeping the board of prizes. Hurrah. They were absolutely beautiful and I love the picture of Verity reaching out to one which I think is reminiscent of the one of me with Mummy and the Christmas tree.

Dave's Dahlia Triumph
Our camera is broken (it won't close so we couldnt get any of the pictures off it) and then yesterday I gave the lens a push and it clicked back in! We quickly downloaded the photos but the next time we tried to open it it stuck again so won't be any pictures for a while which is why this blog is so late!
