Now a waiting game

Well it is Jan 9th so I have officially reached my due date and no imminent signs of this little girl's arrival! Helena came yesterday and all is well blood pressure, position, urine checks, no swelling or water retention etc, and as of yet no stretch marks so I may be lucky again. We had some crazy pushing of a foot against my tummy when Helena was using the sonicaid so she is definitely still moving around in there! Helena reckons that she is 3/5 engaged.

So we just wait now! Exciting and a bit scary. All the bags are packed in case I have to transfer (fingers crossed not) and pretty much everything else is ready (clothes in the wardrobe, bassinet made up, nappies all washed and ready (they look very small compared to Vincent's!), old towels and sheets sorted out etc etc). We have a waterproof sheet on our bed in case my waters break (don't want to ruin our very good mattress!). Helena said that I don't seem fed up enough for labour to be imminent, but then I think generally apart from being tired, pregnancy agrees with me so I can pretty much carry on as normal so I can't imagine I will get really fed up... famous last words.... we'll see.....Anyway, she says I am the most well of all her clients so that is a good sign.

So I have to keep myself occupied so I don't get peed off with waiting. The two days Vincent has been at nursery this week I have had a nice long lie in, then got on with proof reading my chapters, doing some NCT Treasurer stuff, walked into Central Six and got a couple of bits etc. We have also been really quite busy this week getting the house ready for 3 viewings... we didn't expect to get them through and did tell the estate agents that a caveat might be me going into labour! The house has never been so clean, or so tidy... not sure how long that will last. Anyway, I did the first one today and Pete is doing 2 tomorrow morning while I am at baby first aid course. Probably nothing will come of them, but it is nice to have the interest particularly given the nature of the market at the moment and it has spurred us on to get loads of little niggly jobs done (replacement toilet seat in the downstairs loo, touch up jobs on the paint work where there are big marks, sanding down the other work tops in the kitchen and oiling them (kitchen looks great now), sorting out the conservatory and getting loads of junk tidied in the dining room, and tidying up in the study/spare room.

Not much else to report really... we are in a bit of limbo......
