Snow snow snow

Well another week gone by. I can't believe that Verity is 2 weeks old now. We have sort of been living in a kind of limbo land just getting used to our new addition. Have been getting out and about though, including back to our usual Monday day lunch at Zafiri's.

Verity is doing well and on being weighed has only lost about 5% so well within normal bounds. Feeding is steadily getting easier and generally Verity doesn't wake too often in the night. She has developed thrush in her mouth though poor little thing (probably from all the antibiotics I was on) so we had a quick trip to the doctors on Tuesday to get some medicine for her.

Vincent has had a bit of a cold and a cough this week which has made him a bit wakeful at night but apart from that he seems to have got quite used to having Verity around. We are busy planning his little party for Sunday (can't believe he is 2 either!) and have spent today getting party bags and cakes organised.

We have also had loads of snow here in the early part of the week, enough for Pete and Vincent to get out in the garden and make a snow man. Well.... actually I think Pete enjoyed the whole thing much more than Vincent did! On Tuesday Pete made a massive snow ball rather than a snow man. On the One Show, Phil Jupitus was on and was saying that while everyone in London seemed to be out making snow men, he had just come back from Essex where everyone seemed obsessed with making enormous snow balls... and lo and behold I look outside and what do I see but that Pete has made a massive snow ball (you can take the boy out of Essex........).He then turned it into a massive snow man on Thursday complete with scarf, bucket hat and carrot nose and it lasted about 4 hours before a rise in temparature caused it to collapse!

I am more annoyed that I have never been sledging and it is perfect conditions for sledging but really it's not a good idea to launch my body around on a sledge at the mo.... guess I will have to wait another 18 years (they say) for another amount of snow this big!
