Well first night went tremendously: it was great to finally have an audience and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy it, so we couldn't ask for more. Pete had arranged for some flowers to be there in the dressing room for me... what a sweetie, I was very chuffed. He was able to come to the first night because Gennie kindly baby sat (Vincent was as good as gold thankfully). We had the cast back to ours for a quick drink after the play, which of course was when Vincent woke up and didn't want to be out of all the action so he came downstairs and was entertaining as always.
Sunday was a nice relaxing day, although I went off to mass with Vincent who seemed to be enjoying most of it, until we got to just before communion and then he had an almighty tantrum... real kicking his legs and laying down on the floor stuff! I took him outside, but that didn't seem to calm him down, in fact he lay on the floor again and ended up grazing his lip on the ground- silly boy. He finally calmed down and fell straight asleep in the car so I reckon he was just absolutely knackered, I guess with the broken night's sleep last night.
We have had such absolutely gorgeous weather over the last few days, we've been out in the garden all the time, and I came back from work today (Monday) to find both Pete and Vincent in the paddling pool on the lawn.
It will be great when Kathryn and the girls are here too. Hope this weather continues because I think the girls will love playing in the garden. I'm hoping Andrew might help me with my veggies too... I just don't seem to find the time to get it all done! There's been a lot to do, from germinating seeds, pricking them out and the constant repotting. Some of the plants now need to go into the veggie plots but it will have to wait for the weekend and the play being finished. I did manage to get some done on Sunday, with Pete's help. Vincent tried to help too, but this mostly consisted of sitting in the compost bag (a totally different type of grobag!), eating the soil, and then trying to drink Daddy's beer (too late... it was all gone!).
Vincent's walking is coming on, although he still won't just take the plunge and let go of our fingers.. he is doing that strange monkey walking though that I remember Juliette starting to do while we were in Taipei.
All in all it has been a pretty tiring time for me... I had forgotten what hard work it is to be in a play, consequently the photo of Vincent and me fast asleep (note my tattoo....all will be explained)!!
