Catching up and my party!

Well it has been a few days since I've had time to do any updates to this. Wednesday was a very busy day for me at work all day. On Thursday I traipsed into town with Vincent on my back to support lecturers on strike at City College, but got soaking wet and managed to miss the rally by 10 minutes anyway!! Oh well... after that we went to Vincent's sing and sign class and met up with Derek and Nell, and then in the afternoon, into the park to meet up with Nikki and Caitlin.

On Friday Janet and Nell came round in the afternoon. I was showing them the ear defenders I have bought for Vincent to wear when we go to the festival as I don't think he is going to be amenable to having ear plugs put in his ears now. Anyway, some funny pictures of that ensued. Also, because I couldn't be bothered to cook, we decided to have a curry.... and Vincent had his first proper Indian takeaway (he's had curry before especially when we were travelling but not a proper Midlands take away). Anyway, I have never seen him put away something with such gusto (chana masala, rice and peshwari nan). Boy after my own heart then!

Saturday.... my birthday.... hooray. Vincent slept in till 9am which was nice and then I opened all my presents and cards on the bed. Then we went into town to go to a theatre production called 'The Whale' where you have a performance just by yourself that lasts 3 minutes and you actually go inside a big aluminium whale and meet a mariner called Jonah who speaks to you and sings a song on his accordion.... a very surreal experience and very enjoyable. It was created by the theatre company that our friends Derek and Janet (with baby Nell) are part of. Had a lovely lunch in the theatre and then home to prepare for the party.

Mo arrived with all the food and we set things up and got Vincent into bed (thank you Vincent for being so amenable on the night of the party) and we were ready for guests arriving at 8pm. The food was amazing and everyone had dressed up and got into the spirit of it. It was a fantastic night and got funnier and funnier as everyone got drunker and drunker! Finally Gennie and Matt left about 130-2am and then of course Vincent woke up, and just as we were so exhausted and needed to sleep, he was wide awake!!.

So very tired today!
