Sunday to Tuesday

On Sunday Vincent and I went off to 9am mass and left a very achy Pete in bed for a lie in. Then mooching around, trying to get our new washing machine to stop wandering all over the utility room when it goes into the spin cycle... very frustrating.

Anyway, then off to the Holmes' for Lewis' 30th birthday party. It was a very good afternoon, with lovely food, great wine and good company so what more could you ask. Vincent started to get a bit ratty about 8ish and so we decided to toddle off home (and anyway we were knackered and were asleep by 1030!)

Monday is Pete's day looking after Vincent while I try and get some work done. Over breakfast, I just said to Pete, why don't you take a look at the instructions just to make sure we are not missing anything re the washing machine.... and lo and behold... in big letters it says VERY IMPORTANT TO REMOVE THE TRANSPORTATION BOLTS BEFORE USING THE MACHINE.... and had we done that...NO! If we had looked a little further in the trouble shooting section it said under 'wandering during spin cycle', 'check you have removed the transportation bolts'!! So Pete removed them and hey presto we have a machine that works... hooray... and that will teach Pete to read instructions.... what's that joke... how many PhDs does it take to change a washing machine....

Had our normal lunch at Zafiris and then Pete and Vincent played about in the garden until dinner time and bed. Apart from waking up once at 130am and settling him back to sleep, Vincent slept through from 730pm and we actually had to wake him up at 745am to get up to get ready for nursery.

Today I spent the day in front of the PC working on a paper we're presenting at a conference next week, apart from a trip out to see my homeopath to get some hay fever remedies... it's just started up. Picked Vincent up at 4pm (apparently he had been giving everyone lots of cuddles today!) and then we came home and made chicken/chickpea tagine(well I did with Vincent sitting in his normal place in the bumbo on the worktop overseeing the whole event and laughing).

Vincent has not got quite as far as Juliette, but now, when he has done a poo, he comes up to you and says 'Boo!' and then if you say 'Have you done a poo Vincent?', he nods his head definitely and doesn't protest at being taken upstairs to be changed. Very handy.
