Tummy bugs galore

Normal Monday with me getting on with some work and Pete looking after Vincent. He didn't eat any breakfast but did eat some lunch and seemed much better. Didn't do anything else really Monday.Tuesday was nursery day and I headed off to Uni for work. I picked him up at 4pm and we headed over to Linda and Dave's for a cup of tea and then back for dinner (which Vincent didn't really eat so I think he was still a bit off colour). However...... it was then that I started feeling ill, really queasy and tummy achy and this carried on until I flopped into bed at around 10 and I was tossing and turning all night. I think about 4am I asked Pete to get me the washing up bowl (not the one we actually use for washing up!)to put beside the bed and then at around 6am I started throwing up..... oh dear!!

That was me for the day, diarrhea and sickness and generally feeling terrible. Luckily it was another nursery day so Pete could take him, but picking him up was a problem because Pete was due in London for the launch event of his software programme... so...... Ardha to the rescue. Thank God for Ardha, I do not know what we would have done without her because I wasn't capable of getting out of bed. She picked Vincent up from nursery, brought him home, played with him, gave him tea, a bath, got him ready for bed and gave him his milk. I said she should go home then, but she persuaded me otherwise, and thank goodness she did because at around 930pm, Vincent woke up having puked up all over his bed. Poor little boy.... clearly he wasn't well after all. And Ardha dealt with all that too and cleared him all up and put him back to bed so that all was quiet when Pete came in about 1030pm. And Pete himself came in looking very pale ... hadn't been able to eat anything all day and felt decidedly ill.

A good sleep seemed to do Pete the world of good and he felt better and seemed to have avoided the sickness but it meant his birthday was a damp squib because I hadn't even got any presents or cards (I had left Wednesday to do this and of course was ill all day). It took me ages to get over it though and Vincent was still a bit off colour yesterday Friday). We did manage to get presents and cards for Pete on the Friday though (Vincent chose some Incredible hulk boxer shorts!) and we had the Holmes and the Bagleys round for drinks and nibbles last night, so his birthday was all right in the end.
