Vincent's 3rd Birthday

Too many birthdays in Jan and Feb for our family! I can’t believe Vincent is 3. He chose a train cake, and dutifully I made him one… a red engine and 3 carriages, and it didn’t turn out too badly. Vincent seemed happy anyway. All in all Vincent’s birthday is stretched over a long period like the Queen! First we had a pre birthday lunch at Linda and Dave’s, then cake and opening presents the afternoon before (Pete in London from the crack of dawn on his actual birthday and not back till late because of snow so lucky we had done it early). Then rest of the cake into nursery with Vincent on the day so that he could celebrate with his friends and teachers there.

Then the following weekend we took Vincent to Thomasland which is based at Drayton Manor Theme Park in Tamworth (only about half an hour away). It was a great day out and Vincent was so excited. He was only too small to go on one ride so we didn’t have to deal with too many upsets. He was so thrilled to be able to actually take a ride on Percy and Thomas and he ‘was a brave boy’ and sat up front to drive Bertie Bus. He is absolutely obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine, which has completely taken over from balls!

Next up was a joint party with Ava and Caitlin at a soft play centre on the 27th so all in all Vincent will think birthdays usually last 3 weeks or so! The party went well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves although those soft play centres drive me bananas. At least with this one you get the whole place to yourself just for your party which is a lot better than some we have been to.
